Victoria , BC (March 22, 2007) -- The 3rd Annual Families in Business Conference organized by Campden Conferences of London, took place on March 21 at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton in Manama, Bahrain . The who's who of business families and leaders from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, The United Arab Emirates and Oman were in attendance to learn about the LifePilot philosophy of Canadian serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, Peter H. Thomas. In our part of the world, he is better known for his mega deals, Century 21 Canada and Samoth Capital Corporation.
Says Thomas, founder and Chairman of LifePilot, “with all the conflict and mistrust we see in our world today, it is very impressive and invaluable to have such a group of leaders come together to talk about their fundamental values, goals and the higher meaning of a successful life -- if we approached all our dealings with a basis of values and the openness to understanding those of others, we'd have a whole lot more freedom and peace in our world.”
Some attendees had never been exposed to the “softer” side of success -- values talk -- yet by the end of the session all agreed, having a values-based life is critical to both personal and business success. “We had a room full of people from all sorts of countries, cultures and religions, yet regardless of background, it was amazing to see that every individual is faced with the same kinds of personal challenges in life”, says Sarah Marshall of Campden Conferences, UK .
As a values-based organization, LifePilot provides a self-directed process that empowers people worldwide to live in alignment with their values. www.lifepilot.org
The concept of LifePilot was inspired by the tragic death of Peter H. Thomas' son. Todd, who had suffered from a series of mental illnesses, committed suicide by jumping from the 14 th floor of the New York Plaza Hotel in 2000. Today, LifePilot not only helps individuals worldwide find their bearings, but it also promotes philanthropy with over 50 percent of net profits flowing to mental health and children's charities. When your values are clear, your decisions are easy.
