People with winning attitudes don't focus on what they don't have or what they can't do. They concentrate on what they do have and what they can do. Don't spend your life wishing you had a better education or that you were taller, smarter or better looking. Be thankful for what you do have and get on with living.

More Words of Wisdom - from Peter
Every human being needs to feel appreciated. Since we are unable to read each other's minds, as much as we would like to, we need to actively show people how much we appreciate them. Showing appreciation passes positive energy from one person to another. It can positively affect someone's day, week or entire life.

Isn't it interesting that everyone's definition of success is different, but everyone's understanding of failure seems the same?
Peter H. Thomas - On his values...
This is a clip from an interview that I did with Peter just outside our LifePilot offices on the inner harbour in Victoria, BC. Around us were the sounds of shipping and sea birds, while we sat at the wharf and chatted about values and what LifePilot is all about. Living by your values is the core of what LifePilot (and LifeManual) are all about. So I asked Peter what his values are that he chooses to live by...

Welcome to 'The View from the Deck'!
Hi there, everyone! Thanks for visiting our new blog space. Here we are at the LifePilot head office in Victoria, British Columbia. Our office is in a small apartment that sits on the inner harbour wharf. We can see the ships sail by and watch sea birds fly over our offices through the day. Next door to us, is a lovely little cafe and we are right near downtown, where there are lots of quaint shops and bits of history. It is a very picturesque town. I grew up here, my name is Caroline and I'm a fairly new member of the LifePilot team. I helped put the new LifeManual website together, including this blog! So you will be hearing more from me on this blog for sure!
At the head office, we have a great team. We have Peter and Rita, who are the founders and Peter is our 'Chief Pilot' -- then we have Chris, who is our fun and creative VP, Chantal, in charge of all things Marketing and Event related, and Ben, our newest member of the team, an MBA student who specializes in Communications, and is here on a summer co-op placement. You'll hear from all of us here on the blog. We have a great team of people here who are all passionate about LifePilot and about helping others.
We also have lots of satellite helpers on our team, there's Mark in Florida, who is our Chief Technology Officer - and master of the practical joke, Juan in LA - who is helping us with the new LifeManual site and helping us get our message out to the world. Along with Juan, there is Amy (off in North Carolina) - who is helping us find ways to reach out to people to share our message in a way that really speaks to who we are and the people we care about. Way off in Romania, we have our youthful tech team, with Adrian and Alina - who keep the website working and help us create all sorts of wonderful online projects. In Chile, we have Will, who is writing some great articles with handy tips from the LifeManual for us (we'll be adding those to the site soon!). Susan, in Vancouver - is our Client Liaison and is basically our friendly 'chatelaine' for our events. Gerry, with her vibrant personality, lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and has been helping us with our Scottsdale events. And Deanna, out in the prairie province of Saskatchewan, is Rita's sister and helps us keep all of our accounts in order, and happily puts together the cheques that go out to help people through our many programs and charitable donations.
We're a very happy and positive bunch and we look forward to meeting YOU! Thank you for visiting our blog and please, comment and let's get to know each other!
Have a great day!
Caroline
