News From The Flight Deck

Welcome to the holiday issue of LifeNews!

The holidays are usually more stressful for us than we’d like; thus, it is important to plan for time out to rejuvenate and enjoy the experience. "Meredith Thring, author of How to Invent, says an essential characteristic of the creative state is the ability to switch off the critical parts of ourselves that inhibit inspiration."

"Albert Einstein knew the power of doing this. Although he kept a regular work schedule, he also made time to switch off his 'critical faculty' to take long walks on the beach or retreat to his bedroom so he could listen to what was happening inside his head." (LifeManual extract)

With a little rest and reflection, think how much fresher you'll feel for the New Year and how much easier it'll be to tackle those goals for 2008. You'll be ready to take on anything. "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We wish you all the very best for the holiday season and
a values-based happy New Year!

LifePilot University Series - A Huge Success

This year, we brought a new LifePilot Workshop format to students of the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, and British Columbia Institute of Technology. The new workshop incorporates various methods of learning, including small interactive group exercises, story telling, teaching of main concepts, inspirational video clips, perception test, personal insight and reflection exercises, classroom-wide interaction, and optional online learning. The underlying objective is to instill and foster the importance of values-based living and leadership in students.

"LifePilot opened my eyes and helped me to chart a course and take control of my life. Who new that 5 hours could make such a huge difference." UBC Student

We'd like to thank the entrepreneurs - Wayne Holm, Nathan Mellalieu, Gord Bylo, and Peter Thomas – who volunteered their time to come out to open the workshops and share insights of their life and career experience with the students. We couldn't have done it without you!

Many thanks also go to the Champions - Trez Capital, Amadon Group, Army & Navy, the Michael O'Brian Foundation, and the Thomas Foundation – for making these workshops possible.
